Khao Stores presents Tandoori Masalo, our very own version of the classic, inspired by a Peshawari-style spice blend. Created originally to be used to marinate meats that are then cooked in a tandoor, this spice blend or masala is especially extravagant in its composition. Each spice selected to complement the other, it adds an incredible depth of flavour to any dish it is used in. In recent times, this masala is ideal for barbeques, grilling and roasting. 

 

For many years, the Khao kitchen has been creating dishes using our very own Tandoori Masalo blend, a recipe we first tried out when a client requested dishes without the use of onion and garlic. As most store-bought spices do not have this exception, chef Punam created her own, enhancing the flavours further by experimenting with the balance of spices. This very same blend has been used to marinate the Khao house Paneer, Mogo or cassava, Watermelon and more. 

 

Enjoy it as a marinade, spice rub or simply add a little to your sabji or curry. Each of the spices has been selected from small farming producers and for their freshness & high quality. They have been ground manually, and so it is likely you may find some larger pieces of the spices in your tin!
