About the event

Khao Suppers cordially invites you to our annual Diwali Supper Club. Join us for a warming evening celebrating the Festival of Lights, a moment of hope, prosperity and togetherness. 


Join us at the table where we will serve a five-course feast taking you through traditional Gujarati flavours reimagined with a fresh outlook. Diwali is a time for gathering, community, spending time with loved ones, and sharing a wholesome meal. In true Khao style, we will be welcoming one and all to join us at the table. 


MENU


On Arrival

Tulsi Ginger Cooler

A Khao Classic - a chilled drink made of holy basil & ginger infused with sugar syrup and lemon juice. 


Avo, Chaat Khao!

(Avo, as in come on!) A mini tart shell filled W/ tangy avocado & beetroot filling topped with a green chutney dust & Tamarind date Caviar. 


Amuse-Bouche

House Tandoori Paneer Skewers

Grilled paneer marinated in a homemade tandoori masala for 24 hours, served with a minty chutney. 


Starter

Dahi Vada

Because no celebration is right without a cooling chaat dish. 48-hour fermented lentils and rice are pureed into these deep-fried fritters, which are soaked and topped with spiced cumin yoghurt and served with tamarind and date chutney.


Third Course

Puri and Shaak

We're serving fresh wholewheat flatbreads, deep fried until they puff up together with two shaak: Leelu shaak made up of green vegetables and a classic brown chickpea or kala chana shaak. 


Fourth Course

Dad's Bateta ni Biryani

A favourite with our whole family, this is our dad's recipe. Spiced potatoes are layered between rice and finished with saffron. Served with pomegranate raita. 


Sweet Endings

Memories in a Jamun

Our Gulab Jamun cake is reimagined for this occasion. Soft milky gulab jamun sponge served w/ vanilla WHIPPED cream & Mini Jamuns.



Please note: The menu is fully vegetarian, but cannot be made gluten-free or nut-free due to the nature of the dishes. These dishes will be prepared in a kitchen that also handles nuts, soy, and dairy. 


The Venue: We're so excited to be back with our friends, Potter & Reid for this celebration, who will be on hand providing a beautiful selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Due to the nature of the space, we have a very limited number of tickets. If you are looking to book for a group of more than 10 people, please get in touch with me directly, here. 


Accessibility: the space is wheelchair accessible. Our supper clubs are suitable for all, from the ages of 5 years and up.
