Khao Brunch Club | Venn Canteen, Porto

Growing up in a big family meant getting together on Sunday morning for a late breakfast that would usually roll into lunchtime. Brunch was usually prepared by Mum and dad together, who would make a selection of savoury and sweet dishes to be enjoyed with cups of chai. These moments were a treat as we were able to fill ourselves up and then spend the rest of the afternoon lounging! We're so excited to be able to share our love of Brunch with you!

Our supper clubs have come to be known for presenting authentic dishes that celebrate the tradition of Gujarati cooking just as it has been passed down to us from generation to generation. With our Brunch Club, this is no different. Join us on Sunday 10th December at Venn Canteen as we share a sumptuous array of vegan dishes that take inspiration from classic Gujarati breakfast and lunch dishes, combined with some Khao-specials.

MENU

To Start

Gujarati Chai & Nashto -  A package of savoury gram-flour snacks, Gathiya, together with a stir-fried pedron pepper coated with ground cumin and a sweet swirled jalebi, all wrapped and served like they do on the streets of Gujarat! Served with oat milk Masala Chai

Main Course

Savoury Pancakes - Spinach and Gram flour pancakes.

Served with Masala Beans - White beans in a slow cooked onion & tomato sauce with fenugreek leaves.

Accompanied with smashed avocado.

Sweet Endings

Srikhand & Granola - Hung coconut yoghurt is seasoned with saffron and served with crunchy oat granola and fresh pomegranate.

Please note: the full menu is vegan/plant-based. There will be a range of nuts present in the dishes so we do not recommend for anyone with any nut allergies. For any other allergies, please share when placing your booking. 

Venn Canteen will be selling a selection of drinks including kombucha, natural wines and beers on the day.
