About the event
You know it as daal but at home, we call it daar.
Unlike whole lentil daal, Gujarati tuvar daar (yellow split lentils) combines tangy and spicy flavours with a subtle sweetness. There’s a special cooking process that differentiates Gujarati daar from its other counterparts, including a more soup-like texture. We've served it at our supper clubs and it never ceases to please us how people react to it, as they're usually used to seeing their lentils whole in a much more thicker daal. Come along as we celebrate this unsung hero, bursting with intricate flavours and warmth.
For this Summer installment, we present fresh summer flavours alongside some of our own favourites!

The Venue: hōm, Dalston
This Summer, we're so pleased to be returning to a local cafe in Dalston, hōm. The owners, Joss & Hong, set out to create a cafe space that aligns with the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic concept that finds beauty and serenity in designs that are simple, imperfect and impermanent. An intimate space in the Dalston Junction development, this will be an intimate evening with limited seating.
Please note the venue postcode is E8 3GT.
